Aims
This topic aims to introduce students to the interacting factors that shape policies for public health. It will provide a framework through which current policies, directed at achieving health, will be examined.
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Compare and contrast different determinants of health policy

Identify the needs of different types of stakeholders in policy making
3.
Distinguish the roles of government agencies, non-government organisations, and communities in formulating and implementing a health policy

Analyse a public health policy with an emphasis on evidence, ethics, equity, and cultural values and practices
5.
Evaluate the effectiveness of a public health policy to communicate recommendations for actions
