Overview
This topic introduces students to the basic skills and competencies required for screen production. Students will work as individuals and in small groups on production assignments and exercises to learn and practice production techniques, crewing and creative problem solving in camera, lighting, sound recording, editing and post-production.

Aims
This topic aims to:
- Introduce students to camera, lighting, and sound recording equipment and techniques and competencies
- Introduce students to non-linear editing techniques and organisation of media files
- Provide students with opportunities to develop screen production skills through group activities and assignments
- Provide students with opportunities to collaborate creatively and problem solve with their peers
- Give students a basic overall awareness of the production and post production process
