This topic is intended to provide knowledge and skills required by researchers within the science disciplines. This topic aims to provide students with:

  • The ability to plan a research project
  • Skills to formulate a research question/hypothesis/plan
  • An understanding of the process of developing a research project proposal
  • Strategies to select, evaluate, synthesise and discuss relevant literature
  • An understanding of the ethical considerations for research
  • Guidance on effective presentation of research information to a professional or academic audience
  • An understanding of intellectual property and data management within a research project
