Overview

This topic equips students with advanced knowledge and skills on building workplace teams and networks which address strategic priorities and key challenges facing today's organisations. High performance teams and self-managed teams have created maximum impact in organisations in the way projects are effectively managed. Therefore, students will learn how to work in a team and be an effective contributor to the building of high-performance teams and networks. Subsequently, students will learn how to recognise valuable team and network relationships in the pursuit of organisational as well as personal career goals.

Aims

This topic aims to provide in-depth knowledge and skills on team building and networking skills in virtual and face-to-face contexts. Students will learn team dynamics, cohesion and interpersonal communication skills to effectively work, build teams and develop effective networks within, and across, organisations. Students learn how to engage with the team and capitalise on the power of diversity. Students evaluate different types of leadership styles for building and fostering teamwork in an era of Industry 4.0 and 5.0.
