Aims
This topic aims to:
- Encourage students to critically consider the influence of different conceptual models of disability and neurodiversity
- Develop student’s understanding of the human nervous system, neuroanatomy and sensory systems
- Explore the various ways that people live with different disabilities
- Identify strategies and supports to promote access and inclusion
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Critically examine and discuss the features and role of the medical, social, biopsychosocial and neurodiversity models
2.
Identify and describe the basic functions of the human nervous system, neuroanatomy and sensory systems and the role they play in a range of sensory and physical disabilities and neurodivergence
3.
Examine and discuss strategies and supports to promote access and inclusion
