Aims

This topic enables graduates to:

  1. Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to guide planning and assessment to underpin evidence-based PBS practices that uphold a person’s rights.
  2. Conduct functional behaviour assessment and interpret assessment data to inform holistic formulation that explains why target behaviours occur in the context of a person’s life and circumstances.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
1.
Conduct evidence-based PBS assessment and planning guided by a person’s rights, values and preferences
2.
Interpret assessment data to appraise risk of harm to the person and others and prioritise the focus areas for intervention
3.
Critically analyse indirect and direct assessment data to inform holistic formulation that provides functional and contextual understanding of behaviour.
4.
Develop functional behaviour assessment and formulation reports using professional language that is accessible to stakeholders
