Aims

This topic aims to provide opportunities for pre-service teachers to analyse and synthesise the middle years' curriculum. It aims to enhance pre-service teacher confidence, knowledge and skills so that appropriate teaching and learning programs can be enacted for areas of subject specialisation.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
1.
Confidently navigate and interpret curriculum policy and documents, to ensure learning experiences are aligned with relevant curriculum
2.
Translate and organise education research, theory, concepts and content into effective learning and teaching experiences in the middle/secondary school contexts
3.
Apply and evaluate a range of pedagogical practices related to teaching and learning within the middle/secondary school contexts
