PSTs will engage with current research and theoretical frameworks to inform the development of innovative teaching and learning programs across key learning areas, including English, Languages, Numeracy, Science, Humanities, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Health and Physical Education, and Integrated Curriculum.  Through collaborative projects and reflective practice, PSTs will enhance their analytical skills and deepen their understanding of the complexities of curriculum implementation, assessment strategies, and inclusive pedagogy. The course culminates in the creation of a comprehensive curriculum proposal that demonstrates a sophisticated integration of theory, practice, and critical reflection.

Aims

This topic aims to provide pre-service teachers with advanced opportunities to critically analyse and synthesize the middle years' curriculum. It seeks to enhance their professional confidence, knowledge, and competencies, enabling them to design and implement effective teaching and learning programs tailored to their areas of subject specialization. By engaging with contemporary theories and practices, PSTs will develop the skills necessary to address diverse educational contexts and meet the needs of all learners.
