This topic aims to ensure that the students understand the following:

Learning outcomes

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Write the relevant equations of motion for fluids in pipes and channels

Use momentum equation to define fluid forces on structures

Understand flow measurements techniques and practice nondimensional analysis

Understand the flows in pumps and turbines and implementing system characteristics equations
