Aims
This topic aims to equip students to better understand the complex demands of public leadership and how to be an effective leader. It will guide them through the literature and related leadership practice to help them generate the knowledge and practical capabilities to be an inclusive and innovative public leader.
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Appraise different leadership types and make informed decisions regarding leadership strategies to implement appropriate to context/situation
2.
Critically evaluate the behaviours and characteristics of collaborators, colleagues and employees in the interest of working with them more effectively
3.
Assess the relationship between diversity and inclusion and innovation and effectiveness in public service and leadership
4.
Evaluate and develop the skills and knowledge to effectively utilise inclusive and adaptive strategies for public leadership
