Aims

This topic aims to introduce students to: 

  • The field of Physical Education and thereby establish the foundations for further study in this area
  • A broad understanding of the philosophical, historical, political, and pedagogical concepts underpinning current practice in Physical Education and its application in school and community settings
  • The links between Physical Education and Health Education
  • Health and Physical Education as a learning area in the Australian Curriculum
