Aims

The aim of this topic is to:

  • Prepare students to grasp the concepts of Sustainable Development Goals, recognise the patterns of health and illness within the Australian context, and appreciate the influence of social and cultural determinants on health outcomes.
  • Explore psychological and sociological perspectives to inform evidence-based nursing care
  • Reflect on personal assumptions and biases and recognise personal strengths to develop and define caring behaviours
