Aims
This topic aims to:
- Provide opportunities for students to learn and develop effective communication and nutritional counselling skills for working with clients and patients using a client centred and self management approach
- Provide opportunities for students to increase their confidence in working with individuals, groups, developing written educational material and reflective practice and be well prepared for their final year of placements
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Apply effective communication and nutritional counselling strategies to ensure nutrition practice that is person centred and culturally responsive
2.
Conduct a dietetic interview that demonstrates a variety of effective communication and counselling skills using ethical behaviour
3.
Apply education theory to develop effective nutrition education strategies for non-professional audiences
4.
Demonstrate effective skills in self reflection and peer feedback using reflective process
