Aims

  • Enable students to apply the knowledge and skills required to identify and critique evidence in a contemporary area of nutrition and dietetics.
  • Further develop students’ skills in scientific writing and presentation for a scientific audience.
  • Develop students’ understanding of career paths and opportunities with a nutrition and dietetics qualification
  • Enable students to evaluate their professional practice and develop plans for ongoing development post-graduation
  • Develop students' employability and preparedness for seeking employment in nutrition and dietetics
  • Develop students' knowledge of effective leadership in the context of nutrition and dietetic practice as an emerging practitioner. 

 

Learning outcomes

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Identify and summarise relevant literature in a contemporary area of nutrition and dietetics and communicate the outcomes to a professional audience
2.
Identify areas of personal strength and areas of development to be an effective practitioner and leader in nutrition and dietetics
3.
Adopt strategies to establish plans for continuing learning, self-management and self-discipline
4.
Define and promote their professional identity across a variety of practice settings in nutrition and non-nutrition fields.
