Aims
This topic aims to:
- Apply the principles of clinical nutrition care as an intervention to assist in the management of a range of paediatric and adult clinical conditions
- Encourage students to further develop their skills in independent learning, critical thinking, communication and collaboration
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Explain evidence-based principles of medical nutrition therapy across a range of clinical conditions with consideration of social and cultural influences on health and nutrition
2.
Apply clinical reasoning in the application of the Nutrition Care Process that underpins safe and effective dietetic practice with individual clients
3.
Identify nutritional and/or food products available in Australia that can be used in the management of specific clinical conditions that reflect a multi-cultural Australian cuisine.
4.
Outline an individualised nutrition care plan using appropriate written and verbal communication strategies
