Aims
The topic aims to produce graduates that:
- Are knowledgeable in the ethical use of data for policy and practice
- Create and interpret evidence-based policy and make recommendations that support the evaluation of policies
- Select evaluation frameworks that align with diverse stakeholder needs
- Apply ethical considerations in policy evaluation, particularly in scope of practice and stakeholder impact
- Conduct program and project evaluations
- Effectively communicate evidence-based research to diverse audiences
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
1.
Plan the components of policies or programs that are critical for evaluation, including intended outcomes, target populations, and potential unintended consequences
2.
Critique the outcomes of a program evaluation, proposing strategies to communicate the findings effectively to diverse stakeholders, including how to address resistance or conflicting interests
3.
Apply an evaluation framework to critically analyse policy
