Aims
This topic aims to introduce students to the field of social policy. This includes reasons for social policy, how social policy is made and how social policy impacts on the lives of the people with whom social workers work. It includes consideration of how social policy impacts on the roles and functions of social work.
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Discuss the key aspects of social policy making and its influence on service delivery

Critically analyse current social policy and its impact on the people with whom social workers work
3.
Apply their skills in policy advocacy and practice to various social issues
