Aims
This topic aims to:
- Enable students to understand the broader policy context of social issues
- Provide students with social work contexts of social issues and to enable them to understand the relationship between personal issues and public concerns
- Enable students to develop skills to apply social work knowledge and values to understanding contemporary social problems in Australia
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Employ skills to understand policy responses to social issues in contemporary Australia

Describe Australian social policies which relate to particular social problems
