Aims

This topic aims to: 

  • Facilitate students'  understanding of the current knowledge, theories, methodology and research in the practice of speech pathology  
  • Facilitate students' understanding of the link between speech pathology and other disciplines e.g., anatomy and physiology, linguistics, psychology, sociology, cognitive science, audiology and research methods 
  • Introduce students to the broader issues of human function across the lifespan and the impact of the social context on health 
  • Foster students' clinical reasoning about methodology and approaches in research and practice
