Aims
This topic aims to:
- Refine and consolidate knowledge of typical and difference patterns of communication and swallowing across the lifespan
- Refine and consolidate the knowledge and practical skills required to conduct evidence-based assessment, analysis, interpretation, planning, and management of complex communication, cognitive and swallowing needs across the lifespan
- Refine and consolidate understanding of the factors that contribute to complex difficulties with communication and swallowing across the lifespan
- Refine application of the principles and strategies for engaging and working effectively with individuals, families, communities and in teams, as well as providing opportunities for complete independence with routine practice
- Provide further opportunities for students to demonstrate cultural responsiveness
- Consolidate students’ abilities to reflect on learning, practice, transfer of knowledge and skills to develop professional goals
- Prepare students for entering the profession
