Aims

This topic aims to provide students with an insight into how research in planned and executed. Under the direct supervision of an academic staff member, the student will plan and execute an individual research project in an area of science. In addition the students will gain experience in the written and oral communication of their project.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Demonstrate the capacity to plan, implement and analyse an individual research project under supervision of an academic staff member.
2.
Apply scientific principles to solve problems and to provide defensible explanations via critical analysis of data and results.
3.
Demonstrate advanced project management and relevant scientific skills.
4.
Clearly and expertly present results in both written and oral form
