Aims

This topic aims to:

  • Provide students with an understanding of the role of events in the tourism industry
  • Outline the principles of event design and best practice in event management
  • Examine the role of culture and community in the staging of festivals and events
  • Develop research skills and an understanding of a range of festival and event designs
  • Provide students with the knowledge and skills required to design, implement and evaluate a range of events
