Aims

This topic aims to:

  • Develop students' skills and abilities in carrying out both academic and practice-led research
  • Develop skills in keeping reflective documents and research, and synthesising this in the creating of art work

Learning outcomes

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Conduct research into an artist, or movement, technique, or material in their studio
2.
Develop a body of work in response to research
3.
Plan, prepare and reflect on their own creative practice
4.
Maintain a reflective journal showing exercises, notes and sketches, research and development of personal and technical ideas

Pre-requisites:

Assumed knowledge

Completion of an Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts. Familiarity with the practice and theory of the studio in the area of study.
