Overview
This topic is an elective that explains the policy frameworks, law, ethical debates and emerging issues that affect health practitioners in Australia.
Aims
This topic aims to teach students:
- The policy frameworks within which healthcare practitioners and lawyers operate in
- The statutory, common law and international law bases of health law principles
- The ethical underpinnings of health law
- How to use the research materials necessary to practise, research and update health law
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Research, update and be familiar with health law frameworks, policy and legal principles
2.
Apply legal and policy principles to health law dilemmas and issues
3.
Apply ethical principles to health law dilemmas and issues
4.
Evaluate the current and emerging legal and ethical trends in health law from local, national and and international perspectives
