On completion, students will be able to critically evaluate research evidence for counselling interventions and programs. Students will also be able to apply various research methods in their counselling work.

Aims
This topic aims to assist students to understand the role of research within the practice of counselling. Students will be able to employ qualitative research methods and analysis to answer a research question, and meaningfully contribute to the production of a group-authored research article.
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Describe the role of effective qualitative research within the discipline of counselling psychology
2.
Use effective qualitative research methods and analysis in answering a research question
3.
Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the method utilised in a group research project
4.
Contribute meaningfully to the production of a group-authored research article
