Aims
This topic aims to equip students in the skills of cognitive-behaviour therapy and other evidence-based therapies, as well as to develop skills in assessment practices.
Learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
1.
Demonstrate ethical and professional practice of clinical psychology
2.
Demonstrate insight and reflective practice (e.g., self-reflection, responsivity to supervision and feedback, self-care, strategies for further professional and self- development)
3.
Demonstrate competent interviewing and counselling skills
4.
Demonstrate proficiency in administration and scoring of a range of psychological assessment methods and tools for presentations of moderate to severe complexity in a culturally appropriate manner
5.
Apply knowledge of complex psychopathology and relevant classification taxonomies in conjunction with integration of clinical psychological assessment to guide initial formulations, potential diagnoses, and to select interventions
6.
Implement culturally appropriate and evidence-based interventions for complex psychological disorders, informed by appropriate assessment and case formulation
7.
Understand and apply optimal methods to evaluate therapeutic processes and outcomes throughout therapy that are responsive to evolving case formulation
8.
Demonstrate advanced application of evidence-based practice for the management of complex psychological disorders with awareness of relevant delivery modalities
9.
Consult and work with other professionals as applicable (e.g., complex case presentations) in domains such as treatment plans, clinical management, and referrals
