Aims

This topic aims to:

  • Provide an understanding of the role of research in psychological practice
  • Provide students with the skills to use research to inform the delivery of evidence based assessment and intervention

Learning outcomes

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
1.
Interpret and communicate findings in oral and written formats
2.
Identify appropriate, empirically supported interventions, and monitor clients’ progress and intervention outcomes
3.
Critically evaluate contemporary scientific literature to inform practice
4.
Investigate a substantive individual research question relevant to the discipline of psychology
5.
Develop skills necessary for the integration, interpretation, and synthesis of quantitative psychological assessment data
