Aims

This topic aims to:

  • Assist students in recognising and critiquing gender-oriented myths and ideologies produced by media and technologies
  • Assist in the development of students' skills in media analysis
  • Develop students' skills in engaging with relevant academic texts and discourses
  • Encourage students to improve their research skills and use of a variety of source texts
  • Develop students' ability to present their learning both orally and in writing
  • Ensure that students are able to participate actively and engage constructively in tutorial activities
  • Develop students' ability to engage in collaborative activity
