This topic aims to:
- Equip students with an acquisition of foundational knowledge about the historical context of health and human services in Australia and within a global context
- Facilitate student learning about the social, cultural, political and economic context which impact on health and human services
- Enhance the knowledge of students about the role and function of health and human services in responding to the needs of vulnerable population in our society
- Allow students to develop and understanding of the context of health and human services and the role and function in influencing professional roles and responsibilities
- Allow students to critically explore a particular health and human service and its role and function in responding to the needs of a particular groups in Australian society

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
