Aims

The aim of the Disability and Community Inclusion major is to equip students with specific work-integrated knowledge and skills that can be applied in a range of disability and related human service environments.

Learning outcomes

On completion students will be able to:

Integrate positive disability and human diversity perspectives to professional practice
2.
Appraise the systemic and structural issues facing people with disability
3.
Support choice and decision making for people with disability through person-centred practice
4.
Determine appropriate advocacy principles and frameworks with and for people with disability
5.
Create collaborative partnerships with people with disability and other stakeholders
6.
Apply research, problem solving and evaluation skills to professional practise with people with disabilities and their associates

Formulate case management and support coordination to facilitate community inclusion for people with disability
7.
Integrate research, problem solving and evaluation skills to professional practice
