Aims

The minor aims to produce graduates who have:

  • Indonesian communications skills which are appropriate for a range of contexts and situations
  • A high level of competency in the four core fields of Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing
  • An understanding of key political, social, economic, environmental and cultural issues in Indonesia

Learning outcomes

On completion students will be able to:
1.
Communicate and interact in a professional and culturally aware manner through a satisfactory level of written and oral skills (Advanced level)
2.
Demonstrate language skills and associated socio-cultural knowledge and conceptual understandings that equip them for employment in organisations either in Indonesia or with an Indonesian focus
3.
Engage cross-culturally in a range of social and workplace settings
4.
Demonstrate knowledge of the developments which have shaped, and continue to shape, Australia's relationship with Indonesia
