Aims
The Honours Program in BA Creative Writing aims to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to research and present, both orally and in writing, an extended piece of research. This includes building on skills developed through the completion of a Bachelor of Arts. The Honours program aims to provide students with advanced creative, conceptual and theoretical skills and knowledge to enable them to produce original creative work in their specific field, to instil an understanding of relevant genre conventions, and to develop research skills and knowledge to undertake research, including creative research.
Learning outcomes
On completion students will be able to:

Produce original creative work using high-level knowledge of relevant creative methodologies, including an understanding of genre
2.
Complete an extended piece of research based on developed skills in a range of research activities, including an understanding of genre and of the ethical considerations of carrying out research
3.
Effectively present their research, both orally and in writing
4.
Deepen their understanding of the role of the writer, both as a member of the community and as within the publishing sector
