Aims

The Medieval and Early Modern Studies minor aims to:

  • Support students to develop knowledge and understanding of Medieval and Early Modern History and Literature
  • Introduce students to a range of texts, historical as well as literary, from the Medieval and Early Modern periods
  • Introduce students to a range of both secondary and primary sources, whether these are written texts, films, images, or artefacts 

Learning outcomes

On completion students will be able to:
1.
Appraise key literary texts from the Medieval and Early Modern periods
2.
Relate the significant events that shaped the Medieval and Early Modern periods
3.
Evaluate a range of secondary and primary sources on and from the Medieval and Early Modern periods
4.
Communicate both orally and in various genres of writing their knowledge of the Medieval and Early Modern periods
