To qualify for the Bachelor of International Relations and Political Science / Bachelor of Arts a student must complete 144 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic according to the program of study below with a:

• International Relations and Political Science component of 72 units
• Arts component of 72 units, according to the program of study below

Not all topics are necessarily available each year.

Students who commence, but subsequently do not wish to complete the combined degrees program may be eligible to transfer to either the Bachelor of International Relations and Political Science or the Bachelor of Arts and receive credit for some or all of the topics already completed in the relevant component.

Students admitted in a combined degree must complete the program of study specified before they can graduate with either award."

1. This Program of Study serves as a suggested study plan. When core topics are offered in both halves of the year, students may enrol in these topics in either half of the year as long as requisites are met.

2. Students undertaking an honours entry course must complete; POLI2026 Research Methods in Political Science (4.5 units).

3. Students seeking an accredited program in Psychology should refer to Psychology (Extended Major). Students completing the extended major are eligible to apply for an Honours program in Psychology. Students undertaking the extended major should reduce the value of Elective topics by 13.5 units.

The Major in Psychology (Extended Major) is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council. Graduates are eligible to apply for Honours in psychology or the Graduate Diploma in Psychology (Advanced). In order to become a psychologist, graduates must then complete two further years of further study/training, for example, a 2-year Master of Psychology, a 1-year Master of Professional Psychology plus internship.
