Aims
To develop understanding, knowledge and skills in the basic medical and health sciences.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course you will be able to:
1.
Be a scholar: have specialised skills around using and producing medical and health related research
2.
Be a communicator: have specialised communication skills in order to communicate effectively and in a culturally appropriately manner and in diverse and inter-professional healthcare teams to elicit information needed to support accurate problem formulation and optimal health care
3.
Be an Advocate for society: have specialised and expert knowledge and understanding of the Australian health care systems, the social determinants of health as well as the variance of health and illness models across diverse cultures
4.
Have a specialised understanding of human anatomy and physiology
5.
Be able to source, understand and be appropriately critical of medical and health related literature at an expert and specialised level
6.
At an expert level, be able to assess core medical and health related knowledge to develop new strategies to research health and medical problems
7.
Have expert and specialised knowledge of the role that medical and health related practice plays in modern Australia and the global society
8.
Have expert and specialised knowledge of the current state of medical and health related systems
