Aims

The course aims to:

  • Support students through the production of an original piece of creative research
  • Continue to develop students' performance skills to a professional level to support practice-led research
  • Familiarise students with burning questions of critical importance in academic and industry contexts
  • Prepare students for further study in practice-led and theory-led HDR programs in performance

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course you will be able to:

Appraise questions of significance to academic and industry settings, and design and execute original research projects to address them
2.
Pursue an original research question across a range of individual and collaborative research projects
3.
Select appropriate practice-led and theory-led methodologies to interrogate original research questions
4.
Evaluate and analyse complex issues and deploy evidence in support of a research thesis that combines written and performed outputs, and weighs up ethical considerations
5.
Communicate research outcomes in performance and written forms for academic and industry audiences
6.
Persuade industry and academic stakeholders of the importance of creative research
