Aims
The Honours Program in Applied Linguistics aims to offer students opportunities to extend previous knowledge acquired at undergraduate level, in the field of Applied Linguistics studies.
It aims to critically evaluate complex ideas, concepts and approaches to Applied Linguistics research at an advanced level, extend students' ability to apply their conceptual knowledge of Applied Linguistics to practical linguistic problems at an advanced level, provide students with advanced vocational knowledge and abilities relevant to the language professional, and provide students with the necessary theoretical, methodological and analytical skills to create an extended piece of research.
Learning outcomes
On completion students will be able to:

Integrate an advanced knowledge of Applied Linguistics topics, especially in terms of current issues
2.
Create an extended piece of research in a particular area of Applied Linguistics to an advanced level, which includes interpreting and applying ethical considerations
3.
Articulate and implement a set of advanced practical skills in a particular area of interpret and apply the knowledge acquired in professional Applied Linguistics contexts in both Australian and international settings to a high level while applying ethical considerations
4.
Effectively present their research, both orally and in writing
