Aims

This minor aims to provides candidates with opportunities to critically examine recent literature, engage in debate and reflection, and expand and apply in-depth knowledge of:

  • Policies and practices related to their area of interest
  • Methods for fostering interdisciplinary and intercultural partnerships and working collaboratively
  • Theoretical and practical matters in education in such a way as to improve professional decision making
  • Curriculum, pedagogy and assessment policies and practices designed to improve learning outcomes and student/client well-being

Learning outcomes

On completion students will be able to:
1.
Integrate dispositions, cognitive skills, reflective awareness and creativity in the application of evidence-informed knowledge, skills and capacities to address contemporary challenges in educational practices
2.
Apply a critical approach to using evidence to inform practices to identify and lead strategic directions
3.
Develop collaborative solutions through reflective and evidence-informed practices to develop understandings of educational research, policies and practices, particularly in relation to leadership.
4.
Apply strategies to empower school communities and educational settings to make positive change through curriculum and pedagogical design principles.
