Aims
This minor seeks to equip graduates with the skills to incorporate into practice, considered and purposeful experiences that cultivate young children’s play, learning and development in the twenty-first century. The Minor includes a sound understanding of the importance of play, early learning curriculum and pedagogies, social and emotional development and a contemporary understanding of documentation and leadership.
Learning outcomes
On completion students will be able to:

Synthesise current knowledge and an integrated understanding of the theories and processes of learning and teaching in the field of early childhood education
2.
Articulate advanced knowledge and reflexivity regarding children's development and individual and social differences, including for young Indigenous Australians aged birth to 8 years
3.
Communicate respectfully with students, colleagues, parents and communities to enhance professional practice and student learning in the field of early childhood education
4.
Demonstrate and apply sound knowledge of research principles and methods in early childhood education
