Aims
This course aims to introduce students to the study of food and nutrition sciences. The first two years of the course introduce students to the biosciences and general nutrition which they will progressively apply to the study of food and nutrition sciences, including the study of social and ecological issues in relation to food.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course you will be able to:

Demonstrate knowledge, skills and attitudes required to understand and synthesise nutrition issues in a range of settings
2.
Demonstrate communication skills for provision of nutrition counselling and education to individuals and groups, using a variety of methods
3.
Demonstrate an evidence-based and critical approach to decision-making in nutrition practice
4.
Have developed independent learning and reflexivity for self-evaluation and management of nutrition practice
5.
Have understood the importance of inter-professional and cross cultural perspectives in nutrition practice
