This combined degree enables you to follow your interests and aspirations whilst enhancing your career prospects by concurrently undertaking two different but complementary areas of study.

The Bachelor of Accounting is an industry informed, forward looking and innovative degree which prepares the next generation of accountants and finance professionals for the dynamic world of Business. The course has a particular emphasis on analytical and technological skills and social impact, to develop socially and sustainably committed, innovative and globally focussed professionals.

The Bachelor of Criminology will prepare undergraduates for successful careers in the criminal justice sector and related fields, through a comprehensive understanding of crime and social harm. Flinders Criminology values and actively fosters critical thinking about, and application of knowledge to solve the pressing criminological problems of our times.

Program of study overview

To qualify for the Bachelor of Accounting/Bachelor of Criminology awards, a student must complete 144 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic according to the Program of Study below. The Program of Study comprises:

Bachelor of Accounting - 81 units
Bachelor of Criminology - 63 units

Students who commence, but subsequently do not wish to complete the combined degree course may apply for an internal transfer to one of the degrees and receive credit for some or all of the topics already completed in that degree.

This combined degree is also available as an exit award from the Bachelor of Accounting/Bachelor of Criminology (Honours) subject to meeting the Program of Study requirements.

Student progression rules

Failure to complete the course within ten consecutive years, may constitute prima facie evidence of unsatisfactory progress for the purposes of the University's Policy on Student Progress. Where permission is given to complete in more than ten consecutive years, there may be a requirement for additional coursework in order to ensure relevant and up-to-date knowledge.
